I think old illustrations are often so much more beautiful or whimsical than much of what we see in advertising or cards today. These are pieces that came with a lot of family photos at an antique store.

"Useful Bird of America". One of a set of 30 designs put out by the Church & Dwight Company, 27 Cedar St., New York. Still in business today.

A NEW YEARS GREETING CARD

Sweet New Year Bells chime Joy to you untold.

The fragrant flowers of Peace and Love
This glad New Year around you spring;
May Joys sweet music from above
Within your heart forever ring;
May Faith, whate'er the future prove,
Glad restfulness of spirit bring.
